St Ben's Parish celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2008. We are assembling STORIES of our past, of our present, and laying foundations for the future. Click here to read some stories. Contact Barb at stbens@sbcglobal.net ~~~~ Mardi Gras on February 2nd of 2008 kicked off the year-long festivities. Parishioners and guests made masks and shoe-box size floats for a parade around the meal hall. There was a potluck dinner and music. ~~~~ St Benedict the Moor feast day was celebrated on April 6th with liturgy at 10:00am followed by brunch downstairs. 60 Alumni plus spouses, former teachers and present parishioners enjoyed a memory-filled day. Pictures will be posted soon. On July 20th a picnic reunion will be held at Sheridan Park along Lake Michigan. We're inviting present & former parishioners, those who were baptized at St Ben's, those who were married at St Ben's, the Capuchins and the sisters who served the ministries, and friends of friends. 10am Liturgy will be followed by food, fun, reminiscing, and storytelling. The anniversary year will close with a gala Dinner of Thanksgiving for all the blessings received these past 100 years, to be held in November, at the Italian Community Center.
